Noodles and chicken fry


  • ½ kg cabbage, coarsely shredded
  • 500gm boneless chicken   breasts cut into 1.5cm strips
  • 500gm noodles, boiled and drained
  • ¾ cup (180ml) water
  • 4 spring onion sliced
  • 1 (75gm) tomato chopped
  • 1 (50gm) onion chopped
  • 1 (50gm) red pepper chopped
  • 30ml barbecue sauce
  • 3tbspoon (30ml) soya sauce
  • 1tbspoon (15gm) groundnuts, chopped
  • 1tspoon (5ml) chili sauce
  • 2 (2gm) garlic flakes, ground to a paste
  • ¼tspoon (1gm) salt
  •  2tspoon (15ml) oil


  • In a bowl, mix chicken, soya sauce, and garlic paste
  • Keep aside for one hour to marinate
  • Heat one teaspoon oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat
  • Add noodles and press them down with a flat spoon
  • Cook for 10 minutes or until browned
  • Slide onto a serving dish.
  • Parboil cabbage with ½ cup water for 5 minutes (partly cook by boiling)
  • Add spring onions, salt, and chili sauce
  • Keep aside
  • Heat the remaining oil in a pan over high heat
  • Add the onions and red pepper and sauté well for 2 minutes
  • Add the marinated chicken
  • Sauté for 2 minutes or until cooked
  • Stir in the remaining water and sauces
  • Cook for one minute
  • Place the cooked cabbage over the noodles, top with the chicken mixture
  • Garnish with the tomatoes and groundnuts
