Lots of girls notice body or mood changes around the time of their periods. Menstrual cramps are preety common.

Menstrual cramps can range from a mild nuisance lasting a day or two to several days of unbearable pain that interferes with everyday activity. Cramps can be dull and achy or sharp and intense. Doctors think that cramps are caused by a chemical called Postaglandin that causes the muscles of the uterus to contract. But too much pain isn’t normal! It can be chronic and debilitating condition that may also lead to infertility, fatigue and bowel and bladder problems.

90% women take pills for relieving their period pain but….taking pills for relieving period pain can be extremely hazardous to health.

There are some home remedies you can try to lower menstrual cramps:

  • Cut down a bit on caffeine, sugar and salt products during your periods.
  • Apply hot water bottle massage.
  • Take chamomile tea, it relaxes the contracting muscles.
  • Soak 1 tsp of fenugreek seeds in water overnight and drink, it has pain relieving properties.
  • Massage with sesame oil.
