Menstrual cramps can range from a mild nuisance lasting a day or two to several days of unbearable pain that interferes with everyday activity. Cramps can be dull and achy or sharp and intense. There are some home remedies you can try to lower menstrual cramps:
- Cut down a bit on caffeine, sugar and salt products during your periods.
- Apply hot water bottle massage.
- Take chamomile tea, it relaxes the contracting muscles.
- Soak 1 tsp of fenugreek seeds in water overnight and drink, it has pain relieving properties.
- Massage with sesame oil.
